Good post, Jon. Having spoken a couple times about social media before (mainly in the context of finding a job), it does help to ask questions and be ready to adapt your presentation accordingly. Perhaps the hardest questions are "What is Twitter?" and "What can Twitter be used for?"

When I worked in television part of my charge was to develop interactive websites and get the staffs of the three stations involved in contributing content and communicating directly with the audience. I had mixed success. Many felt like they were being asked to do "one more thing" without additional compensation (which they were).
Today almost all of those same folks use Facebook everyday and have a better understanding of what we were trying to accomplish.
When I talk to people about using interactive, social tools they have a sense that it is "important" but sometimes are not sure why. Once we discuss the possibilities and what they hope to accomplish they get it.
