I enjoyed your perspective, Jon. As someone who has, like you, seen the movement from fax to Twitter (actually from typewriter to computer, too), I hope that desksides - or any opportunity we have to get to interact with editors in person - doesn't disappear completely. Sure people are busy. But one of the things I really like about social media are the instant connections/relationships, which can really be deepened when you meet a person face to face.
